It affords a clear solution with ammonia and may be used for preparing Liquor Bismuthi, P.B., by adding gr. 140 (9-0 gm.) of the salt to a mixture of fl. dr. i (8«o, c.c.) of Solution of Ammonia, and water fl. oz. 3! Being slightly acid in character, it is chemically and physiologically compatible with pepsin. A solution corresponding in strength to the Liquor Bismuthi, P.B., may be made by dissolving gr. 185 (12-0 gm.) of the salt in sufficient distilled water to make fl. oz. 3^ (100 c.c).
