Manuscript on vellum; the parchment is prepared so that hair and flesh sides are indistinguishable. Quires consist of 8 leaves with catchwords at the end of the quires. Prickings on outside margins and ruling done by done point. All this is characteristic of MSS. in late twelfth to mid-thirteenth cent. Ashkenaz.
Many leaves are damaged and incomplete. Some seem to be charred by fire.
There are many textual variants, many of which are consistent with those in the Worms Maḥzor.
Contains the oldest known copy of the Haggadah in Ashkenaz (late 12th cent.)
