Written by two different hands in Gothic minuscule script with rubrication.
Includes 4 miniatures.
Binding: Modern dark grey velvet over pasteboard.
Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary begins at verso of leaf no. 4; Seven penitential psalms at recto of leaf no. 56; Office of the Dead begins at verso of leaf no. 75.
The inclusion of miniatures of St George (verso leaf 20), St Florian (recto leaf 44) and some of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in the Litany of the Saints (leafs 64-69) suggests France or Germany as the place of origin.
The frequent presence of the looped 'd' with the angular bow and the angular form of 'r', characteristic of the French Gothic cursive, reinforce a French provenance and the late 14th century as the period of creation.
