which from and after the Fiftecnth Day of surc, i766, /iall be expofcd to Sale, in Veiels, Rafts, (Cages, or
othesife, in any of the Towns of thiis Provinice, fiall; be fsill Eighlt Feet Six Inchles asd two Thirds of an Inch long
Engl/h Meafure, and full Fousr Feet l?hsee Incitrs and oste Third of an Inchi in Ileighth like Mleafure, being equal
to Eight Feet long, and Four Feet highl French Meafure, and that each Log or Stick ihall be full Two Feet Eightt

fhall fufpect, that the Parcel of Fire-wood in assy fuch Vetliel, Raft, or Cage, does sot contain thie Number of Cotls
contra/ted for, or that the Logs and Sticks are sot of the Length aod Dimenfions by this (Ordinance dirertedi every

appointed by His Majeflly's Juftices of thie Peace of the D)iftricts of Y)re/,c or Montrea/, tho are hereby required to
firvey or meafure the fame accordingly; and if on fuch Survey or Meafuremcnt it /hall be found, that either thel,
Raft, Cage, or Parcel of Wood, do not contain the Nusnber of Cords of Fire-wood contracEted for, or that the Logs
asad Sticks are not of the Length or Dimenfions by this Ordiiance dil-ecicted, every fuch Raft, Cage or Parcel of
Wood hall be forfeited, one Moiety to the Poor of the Tons welirc iiach Offence fiall be comnmitted, and the
other Moiety to the Coistra/or, he paying thereout for the Suc\reyih or Meaouring thereof, whether theu faire be
forfeited or not, at the Rate cf T-o Pence per Cord.
AND WHEREAS it fic'que;tlv happens that the Sellers oaf Fire-woodi il Rafts or Cares, oblige the Buyers thiereof, I
under various decitful Prtences, to pay down tihe Price contratecd foc, asld afte-svaldss it is found that thie Rafts,-
